Partnerships work best when values, pace, and audience vibe overlap.
We’ve all seen collaborations that feel forced. Loud and unnatural but flashy. Ads that don’t really resonate flooding your Instagram feed.
That’s not really our vibe. We’re here for authentic collaborations that people can feel and connect with.
We probably can’t send Felix Baumgartner to the edge of space to jump off a spaceship like GoPro X Red Bull did. But there definitely are steps we can take to ensure a successful collaboration campaign that also feels natural.

Here are some suggestions:
- Start with a bigger-than-sales purpose
Agree on a shared “why” (e.g. raise $1k for a local cause, reducing packaging waste, ect) and write a one-line success statement together: “we’ve won if we xxx”
2. Check the overlap before you plan
Align on values, audience vibe, pace, and capacity (do the 3×3 overlap grid below). If a any box doesn’t match, tweak the idea — or pass gracefully.
- Pilot tiny, learn fast
Run a one-day. One-offer, one-channel test (MVP). Prep the basics only: asset checklist, single approver, simple run-of-show (who posts when.)
- Make the value exchange explicitly (and fair)
List who brings what: channels, product/stock, budget, space, staff.
Pick one hero KPI (sign-ups, bookings, foot traffic) and set simple tracking (UTM/QR/code). Note IP & data: who owns content and keeps the email list.
- Show the love publicly, then close the loop
- Spotlight your partner more than yourself; share behind-the-scenes and credit suppliers.
- Accessibility counts: captions, clear pricing, timings, access notes
- Afterwards: post a mini-recap, send thank-yous, and book a 20-minute debrief (keep/tweak/drop + next idea)
Remember bees (entrepreneurs) work together to push for relevant growth. Keep it kind and keep it civil.
